The Lithosphere 2022 Symposium will take place on November 15-17, 2022 in Turku, Finland. This is the 12th symposium organized by the National ILP Committee of Finland. The symposium is aimed for all geoscientists studying problems of the lithosphere in general, and the Fennoscandian lithosphere in particular. The language of the symposium is English.
We hope to provide an attractive platform for an on-site meeting after this lengthy period of virtual meetings!
The meeting will take place in the Arken building in central Turku. The keynote talk will be given by Prof. Atle Rotevatn from University of Bergen, Norway.
The symposium has the following themes:
- Fennoscandian lithosphere from upper crust to asthenosphere
- Precambrian and Phanerozoic evolution of Fennoscandian lithosphere
- 3D and 4D modeling of lithosphere structures and evolution
- Orogenies: Structure, deformation, magmatism and metamorphism
- Neotectonics, seismicity, deglaciation and postglacial uplift of Fennoscandia
- Natural resources and metallogeny
- Scientific drilling projects in Fennoscandia
- Seismic studies of lithosphere structures
- Short communications and briefings on new and on-going projects
